One for the Money by Janet Evanovich
Stephanie Plum is down on her luck. She lost her job and has already sold most of her furniture to keep afloat. When Stephanie sinks low enough to go to her cousin’s bail bond company to land a filing job, she ends up as a bounty hunter chasing a $10,000 fee in the form of Joseph Morelli, whom she’s known all her life. “One for the Money,” the first of numerous entries in the Stephanie Plum series is an amusing read. The action and mystery elements were middling and familiar but the character of Stephanie Plum made the whole story worthwhile. She’s brazen and smart-mouthed but also vulnerable. The banter between Stephanie and Joe Morelli made up some of the most entertaining parts of the fast-paced plot. I would recommend “One for the Money” as a fast, light read.
