Book Review – The Last Days of Night

The Last Days of Night book coverThe Last Days of Night by Graham Moore

Who knew patent litigation could be so fascinating? But that is exactly the word I would use to describe Graham Moore’s new book about the light bulb wars and the fight for dominance between alternating and direct current. Moore expertly brings to life the sometimes mythical characters of Thomas Edison, George Westinghouse, and Nikola Tesla in a historical tale that follows actual events. The novel is set from the point of view of Westinghouse’s young attorney, Paul Cravath, who, fresh out of law school takes on the Herculean task of defeating the ruthless Edison. Moore’s deft storytelling brings just the right amount of polish to an already dramatic story that is well worth your time.
