Obviously, spoilers included!! I will never forget my first experience with this particular problem. It was Christy by Catherine Marshall. I literally threw the book down in disgust when I got to the end. What’s your experience with disappointing endings?
Novel Escapism 
I remember trudging through “Cold Mountain” for days waiting in suspense for that soldier to get back to his love. When I got to the unexpected end I was overcome with grief and anger. When the movie came out and I heard it had the same ending I refused to go. Couldn’t live through THAT again!
I was disappointed at the end of The Selected Works of T S Spivet, because I loved the story but they left so much unresolved, and that just bothers me. It just feels unfinished.
